ANZAC Day Service

We commemorated the ANZAC Day by holding a service on Friday 8th April, as the students will be on school holidays on the actual day, 25th April. The service was very moving and students showed their respect for those who fought for the freedom we enjoy today. In class, we have been finding out about the 'ANZAC spirit' and the events that make up this part of our history. Students have used the information to empathise with the soldiers and write a letter home from the war front. Audrita and Sheldon were chosen to read their letters at the service. As part of our work about the ANZACs we made poppies with our buddy class which we then wore, together with some rosemary, to show remembrance and respect for the soldiers who died.

We also made a wreath with our buddy class which was carried at our ANZAC ceremony by Steven and Chandrea from Room 15, and Kayla and Blake from Room 14.
