Nature Playground

Some fabulous news to start Term 3 was the opening of the Nature Playground. A lucky family was chosen to try out the playground on the day, and the winning family included Tyriq from our class.

The students are all excited to try out the new features and on Thursday we went over as a class to check it out. We're all looking forward to playing there on our rostered days. A big thank you to the P&C for all their fundraising for this fabulous new playground.

Winter Interschools Carnival

Last Friday, Year Five and Six students participated in the Darling Range Community Sports Carnival. We took several teams of soccer and netball and a team of football. The rain mostly stayed away, just some drizzle to remind us these are winter sports. Everyone had a great day and the carnival was well organised. Congratulations to all participants and thank you to the staff and parents for coaching and supporting the teams.

Netball A

The day was all about good sportsmanship but as a bonus the Netball A won their division and the Netball B were runners up in their division.

Asian Animals

As part of our inquiry learning about Asia students researched and wrote about an animal found in Asia. Students did a fabulous job with their written reports including very informative facts about the animals. Please enjoy some examples by clicking on the picture below.

High School Transition

The Year Sixes went up to Lesmurdie Senior High School as part of their transition to high school. Students had a look at a Physical Education, Home Economics, drama and Design & Technology. It was a great experience to see how students move from one session to another using their timetable and map. We really enjoyed the Design & Technology area, especially trying to light the arc welder. Thank you to the staff and previous Wattle Grove PS students who looked after us.

Darling Range Learning Community network visit

The Darling Range Learning Community coordinator visited us at the end of Term 2 to talk about our Citizenship Portfolios and share some ideas. This should have helped students who were still unsure as to what was needed for their portfolio. Students were also encouraged to think about a community project to be completed as part of their work on citizenship.
